Blackmagic Introduced Video Production Systems

InfoComm. In Orlando, the company Blackmagic Design presented video production systems that allow the integration of state-of-the-art technology at a low cost. Its systems for 4K and its two mini cameras, one for studio and the other for cinema, stand out.

Both mini cameras were officially presented last April during NAB Show and the company makes them available to the audiovisual industry, since they have attracted a lot of attention now that it is fashionable to film video through drones.

One of them is the Micro Cinema, a professional Super 16mm miniaturized digital film camera, with a new expansion port that allows customers to use remote controls such as the PWM and S.Bus to control the camera wirelessly and capture actions anywhere.

The unique feature of this new camera is the built-in expansion port that provides access to many of the camera's unique functions through common remote control solutions such as the remote controls of model aircraft.

The expansion port has PWM and S.Bus connections that are used in the remote control equipment. These radio control receivers are inexpensive, as they are products of the consumer hobby and feature several "channels" that can be connected directly to the camera by themselves.

This means that these channels can be assigned to any camera setting or camera lens and then remotely manage it through the radio controller. Clients have remote control functions, such as iris, focus, audio levels, and start and stop recording.

The other mini format camera presented by Blackmagic was the Ursa, a compact and lightweight Super 35 digital camera, which is balanced for handheld use and comfortable to be used throughout the day. It features a 4.6K, switchable image sensor, up to 15 stops of dynamic range and Apple ProRes recorder.

Blackmagic URSA Mini is available in four models, customers can choose between EF or PL lens mounts and 4K or 4.6K image sensors. It is designed to be used in movies, TV shows, commercials, documentaries, music videos and more.

The quality of its 4.6K sensor with 15 stops of dynamic range allows customers to capture epic cinematic shots, while its compact size is perfect for individual sessions or smaller crews.

Ursa Mini has multiple mounting points so it can be used with accessories with high-quality cinema optics, rails, matte boxes and more. The Ursa Mini's optional shoulder kit  features a quick-release mounting plate so you can run from hand to shoulder or on a tripod in a matter of seconds.
