Manufacturers bet on 3D video projectors for homes

video proyectoresInternational. Although there are still few 3D contents available for mass consumption of homes in Latin America, the main manufacturers of video projectors are committed to the production of equipment for this segment.

Benq, Epson and Panasonic presented their latest 3D video projectors for home theaters, the first of them with an exclusive system for this technology, while the other two mix it with 2D. But how much market do these equipment have in the region?

In this regard, José Luis Rodríguez, leader of Business Products (video projectors) of Epson Colombia, said that the consumer is very attracted to 3D but has conflicting ideas.

"Many say they like it, others say they are dizzy with the screen, additionally, if you go to a specialized movie store there are very few titles that are in 3D, even in the United States. Users buy more for fashion, so Epson is committed to combining it with 2D".

But Hollywood's tendency to produce 3D films, generating much more content available for the consumption of the new technology, is what motivates many companies to bet on this segment, said Miguel Cotes, of Panasonic Colombia.

He indicated that "We have many expectations. The video projector was launched in Latin America in October and during the first month we reached 300 units sold only in Brazil and in the other countries orders have also been generated."

For her part, Karina Jaramillo of Benq, stressed that this segment in the video projector market has been growing strongly in Latin America, especially in countries such as Mexico and Brazil.
