Christie Terra powers 4K capacity AV systems

Latin America. Christie launched Terra, a range of new products that help the customer extract maximum benefit from the Software Defined Video over Ethernet (SDVoE) Alliance. The SDVoE Alliance ensures a standardized approach to maximize the architecture and performance of the AV-over-IP system in terms of scale, reach, and user experience.

Christie Terra solutions comprise an expanding range of transmitters, receivers and control software and hardware with which to design and integrate simple, flexible, highly scalable and affordable systems in line with SDVoE standards.

Based on standardized SDVoE technology, Christie Terra solutions support 4K video formats up to 60Hz and offer unprecedented capabilities for transporting and processing uncompressed video, with zero-frame latency and without artifacts, on very economical 10G Ethernet components. Christie Terra can be seen at InfoComm 2017 booth 2553, which runs in Orlando, Florida, June 14-16.

"Christie's extensive experience in image processing and AV-over-IP applications positions us in an unbeatable way to manufacture products and create solutions for more quality and better performance than traditional AV system designs," said Clark Williams, Executive Vice President of Content Management and Processing at Christie.

With a solvent, respected and consolidated track record of supplying and supporting a range of high-end applications with performance-focused projection technologies, advanced processing, warping, multimedia playback and network distribution systems to a wide variety of markets, we are proud to present Christie Terra as a new solution compatible with SDVoE standards.

The launch marks the beginning of a completely new way of working, which allows Christie to dynamize, reinforce and improve AV management, processing and distribution in ways hitherto unknown.

One element of the Terra solution is the Christie Terra Transmitter, a transmitter that processes audiovisual sources and incoming control signals and transports uncompressed content, with zero-frame latency and without artifacts, over 10G Ethernet networks.

The Christie Terra Receiver accepts the audiovisual and control data from the 10G Ethernet network, transferring them to displays or other AV devices. Christie Terra Controller is a controller that offers operational control and complete and secure management for the installation, configuration, programming and agile and secure update of Christie Terra systems.
