Christie launches Pandoras Box 6.0 and Widget Designer 6.0

Latin America. The new Christie® Pandoras Box 6.0 media server was launched at the 2016 edition of Live Design International (LDI), which was held October 21-23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Pandoras Box system combines the latest in rendering technology with intuitive media and show control.

Pandoras Box is used worldwide for live experiences such as multimedia events or projection mapping. The system can be installed as a standalone playback device, as a network playback client, or in console mode for DMX Direct Control.

Among its many innovative aspects, the Multi User mode allows multiple Pandoras Box operators to share the workload of a project, thus achieving greater efficiency when working on different tasks: warping, coding content, programming times or, simply, working in the same sequence. Pandoras Box 6.0 also offers abundant workflow enhancements, such as editable meshes and warps, UV mapping settings, and live canvas masking and painting. And all within the preview window.

"The ability to have multiple operators collaborating and scheduling simultaneously on the same project is going to have an incredibly positive impact on how you use Pandoras Box at large events," said Joel St-Denis, Chief Product Officer at Christie. "When we prepared Pandoras Box 6.0 we listened to the suggestions of our users and focused on improving the overall workflow by incorporating frequently used aspects, such as the possibility of warping directly in the Pandoras Box interface."

Pandoras Box and Widget Designer: a winning combination
With Widget Designer our clients can create user interfaces and interaction logic for specific tasks. Simply connect visual control components. New aspects of widget Designer 6.0 are its now redesigned HTML5 user interface and native HTML support, which includes CSS Styles. Animation and transitions are now available for all pages and widgets, and the new composition nodes allow you to integrate node systems into reusable client nodes.

"In combination with Pandoras Box 6.0, widget Designer 6.0 provides the end user with a customizable control interface solution that no other system on the market is in a position to offer. The 'unlimited web clients' option allows an infinite number of web clients to independently control multiple pages in installations that require remote controls with a centralized control station," concludes St-Denis.
