Avid offers fluid musical composition with Sibelius 8.2

Latin American. Avid announced its new Music Notation Software Sibelius 8.2, which offers composers recording and workflow enhancements to effortlessly create beautiful, accurate and readable scores.

As part of a series of regular updates delivered through Avid All Access plans, Sibelius 8.2 introduces several of the core requests of the customer community, demonstrating Avid's commitment to listening to its customers' needs — an essential principle of Avid Everywhere.

"Sibelius is the best-selling music notation software in the world, and the Sibelius 8.2 update introduces great advancements to notation, including several enhancements requested by our customers since version 8.1," said Dana Ruzicka, vice president and chief product officer, Avid. "This demonstrates our dedication to responding to community feedback and providing solutions quickly. And thanks to the analytics and bug reporting we introduced in version 8.1, Sibelius is now more stable than ever."

Sibelius offers sophisticated tools that are easily used and have been tested and rated as reliable by composers, arrangers, editors, educators, and students. New updates to Sibelius 8.2 that make compositing even faster and easier include:
•    Different alterations in the parts.– It is now possible to have the same grade with a different alteration in the part(s) than the one you had in the score.
•    Armor before repeat lines.– As a default, key changes (armatures) now appear after the compass line, but before the repeat bars.
•    Slide and move notes and silences.– Now, notes and silences can be moved horizontally in the score, with new keyboard shortcuts simplifying the process, eliminating the time wasted when cutting and pasting music on the staves.

In addition, Avid has added two new Sibelius packages to offer composers even more value with powerful capabilities for their workflows at a reduced price. The Sibelius + PhotoScore & NotateMe Ultimate Package allows the user to scan sheet music to introduce to Sibelius and write music and notes by hand using a pen and tablet. The Sibelius + AudioScore Ultimate Package allows customers to convert recorded audio or microphone performances to transcribed music notation.

Whether customers choose to purchase Sibelius, upgrade their Sibelius, or subscribe to Sibelius, their purchase includes an Avid All Access plan, which provides access to regular feature and stability enhancements, as well as expert help throughout the life of their plan or subscription.
