Bosch, Logitech and Samsung, new friends of Hue partners

International. Philips continues to take connected home lighting to new horizons with the announcement of a number of new Friends of Hue partners for Philips. Bosch, Logitech and Samsung SmartThings are partners of Friends of Hue. This means that its connected home products, apps and platforms integrate with Philips Hue and are certified to deliver new and efficient lighting experiences.

There are a number of significant factors that impact the successful adaptation of the Internet of Things in homes. The key to this is new experiences, for example: lights, thermostats and cameras work together to understand how your home is shaped, saving you energy or giving you peace of mind when you're away from home. For this, seamless interoperability with other connected products is crucial.

"We are delighted to announce our new partners," said Sridhar Kumaraswamy, business leader of Connected Home Systems at Philips Lighting. "We've already partnered with brands like Apple and Nest; all of Friends of Hue's partnerships have strengthened the impact of lighting to help understand the Internet of Things for homes."

Light can help provide peace of mind and comfort with the integration of Bosch and Nest with Philips Hue. Think about turning on the light to simulate your presence when you're outside: flashes of yellow light in case of a fire alarm then changing to red, which is best to help navigate through a smoky environment. Think about having your Philips Hue light set in relaxation mode while the temperature rises in your bathroom.

Integrating with Philips Hue can also improve home entertainment. Logitech integrates Philips Hue into its Harmony platform through its universal remote that can operate your lights to enhance TV viewing and other home entertainment activities.

In terms of platforms, Samsung's SmartThings integrates Philips Hue lights into its smart home platform, allowing Hue lights to respond to your daily routines and work in tandem with a wide range of sensors, locks, cameras, thermostats, speakers and more.

In addition, for Apple Watch, Philips integrated Hue into Apple's HomeKit platform, meaning it works similarly with other HomeKit products and Siri voice control.

From the beginning, Philips has motivated others to integrate with Philips Hue. From third-party developer applications and wearable technology, to internet services and connected products for the home; Philips Hue goes beyond lighting and provides more than just light, to deliver new experiences where the only limit is your imagination.
