Panama. Christie's Q Series projectors played a leading role in the VII Summit of the Americas, which took place this year in Panama. Four Christie DHD951-Q were used to perform a mapping at the opening ceremony of the Summit by the company Meeting & Show Technologies.
The ceremony took place at the 2,800-seat Anayansi Theater, which is located inside the Atlapa Convention Center, the Summit's main venue located in the heart of Panama City.
The organization of the summit went to Meeting & Show – a Panamanian company with more than 15 years of experience in the management and supply of equipment for all kinds of events – to take charge of the technical services of the opening ceremony in which the 35 leaders of the continent would be present.
As far as the projection is concerned, the idea was to carry out a mapping on the sides of the stage with the aim of giving a touch of movement to the scenery, but without distracting from the protocol aspect of the opening of the Summit.
The client was looking for projectors that could provide good definition, and Meeting & Show immediately thought of Christie's Q Series. "They are very reliable projectors that guarantee us a great performance when facing projects as important as this," says Rafael de la Fuente, Marketing Manager of Meeting & Show.
The four Christie DHD951 (HD resolution, 8,200 ANSI lumens) were placed on front bridges firing data, abstract elements and settings on a wall and screens located on the sides of the stage.
The teams' geometric correction warping function allowed Meeting & Show to fit the projection precisely into the irregular surface on which it was projected. To manage the contents, the Millumin playback software was used, a tool specialized in synchronizing live events. The resolution was 1920x1080 and the aspect ratio was 16:9.
In the hour and a half that the projection lasted, the Christie DHD951-Q behaved impeccably, complementing the ambient work carried out by other elements such as lighting.
