Alcatel Lucent Seeks to Connect Latino Businesses

Mexico. Mexico has experienced in recent years significant growth in various productive sectors, as a result of an increasing number of transnational companies (many of them within the Forbes Global 2000 list) have settled or increased their operations in the country. Parallel to the evolution of the business of these large companies, the needs of communication, connectivity, networks and systems have grown.

From those times when the requirements of companies were based on voice, we have moved to business processes that increasingly require a greater amount of data exchange to function and remain competitive: video, real-time transmissions and unlimited connectivity are part of their daily lives and therefore some companies lease or have their own data centers to support their operations.

"We have seen that with the increasing use of the Internet and mobile devices, many employees decide to use their own applications and devices, since they cannot wait for their IT departments to deliver the tools they need to give them communication and immediate availability and / or access to higher bandwidths. This is undoubtedly one of the great challenges to be addressed in the coming years," says Alberto Ríos, Commercial Director for Large Companies in Mexico at Alcatel-Lucent.

Consequently, to maintain a competitive advantage and in the search for new solutions, CIOs must continuously adapt and find new technological mechanisms following current trends in hybrid cloud, mobile applications, security, data analysis (Big Data), among many others.

The portfolio of solutions for large companies is based on five areas of company leadership, which allows:

- Automate the operation of the internal network (LAN) of the data center.

- Build Virtual Networks of Cloud Services, to allow the connection between branches, remote offices and external locations in a simple and fast way.

- Transform voice communications, so that they are simpler to use from anywhere employees need them.

- Increase the availability, security and capacity of the company's data and transmission networks.

- Interconnect data centers in a flexible way, with high capacity, availability and information encryption.

From the operational side, Alcatel-Lucent's strategy to bring this new portfolio to companies will be based on its network of partners and distributors in the region, and which is complemented by the telecommunications operators that today already access this type of solutions in the country.
