The application of 3D in cinema revolutionized the way of watching a movie.2010 will be the key year for the entry of TVs and 3D Blu-ray players. According to Masayuki Shiotani, marketing director for Sony Latin America, the Japanese company will launch worldwide from the summer of this year the BRAVIA® LCD TVs compatible with 3D, as well as Blu-ray disc players compatible with 3D and incorporated into Home Theater systems.
Also during 2010 will be the presentation of VAIO PCs and digital cameras compatible with 3D. Additionally, PlayStation3®units will be able to play stereoscopic 3D games through a firmware update that will be available from summer 2010.
The foray of 3D technology into everyday household life marks the beginning of a new technological standard of consumer entertainment in the medium term, said Masayuki Shiotani.
