International. Prolight + Sound 2025 stood out this year for its innovative technology and for the many activities organized around the world of entertainment. AVI Latinoamerica was present, sharing with its readers an intimate account of how this event is driving the global transformation of shows and entertainment.
Held in Frankfurt, Germany, and with more than 23,000 professional attendees from 108 countries, this special 30th anniversary edition demonstrated how exhibitors are redefining the future of events. State-of-the-art lighting and sound solutions, automated camera systems and energy-efficient concepts were on display in the halls of Messe Frankfurt. In total, 491 exhibitors participated and presented innovations designed to respond to the current challenges of the industry.
AVI Latinoamerica spoke with several exhibitors, who highlighted a challenging, but promising, outlook for the Latin American audio and lighting market.
As Eric Loader, Elation's global vice president of sales, put it: "Mexico is a strong market for us; in Central America there are some countries that are doing very well, and in South America we see a great opportunity to grow over the next few years, so we are betting on that, having Mexico as a starting point."
For his part, Jochen Gotzen, technical director for Germany of dBTechnologies, said that for the brand Europe is a very important market, especially Germany, and that for these reasons they are present to publicize their most recent innovations, such as the Ingenia series, which is the first series of active speakers of vertical development designed and made by the brand. Now they presented the Enginia 5 model, which is the largest speaker in the series.
On the other hand, the fair not only brought together a global audience, with visitors from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, but also amplified interest in sound and lighting technologies, areas that registered a notable increase in attendee participation and satisfaction. Professionals sought inspiration from the three main themes of the event: sustainability ("ProGreen"), immersion and artificial intelligence ("FutureScapes"), and technological flexibility ("MultiTech").
Messe Frankfurt President and CEO Wolfgang Marzin highlighted the impact of the event: "With more than 580 activities over four days, Prolight + Sound 2025 has been a testament to the innovative capacity of our industry, adapting to challenging economic times and offering solutions for the future." While the world of entertainment accelerates its transformation, the market is in a stage of consolidation that augurs a promising horizon.
