SAVe to Hold First Conference in California

Latin America. The SAVe initiative, which works for sustainability within the audiovisual industry, will hold its first global conference on March 14 and 15.

The event, which will be held at the University of California, will be a space that will feature educational segments for integrators, forums and training sessions. In addition, it will be a space for integrators and brands to obtain the SAVe certification and start with their internal sustainability plans.


Integrators and brands from different regions will also be able to share ideas and see how, from the work they each do, they can help achieve progress in areas related to reuse, responsible waste management, reducing lifecycle carbon emissions and reducing energy consumption.

The conference will feature panelists with a lot of experience in the industry, such as Christina De Bono, president of Clear Tech and founder of SAVe and who also had the opportunity to be at the UN in one of the commissions that went to talk about the 2030 agenda; Rey Kent, CEO and Managing Partner of Sustainable Technologies Group, has written about sustainability and technology, taught at InfoComm as an adjunct professor, created training modules for the USGBC, and was involved in the creation and administration of the Sustainable Technologies Environmental Program (STEP).

Also on the agenda will be Joe Way, Digital Spaces Executive at the University of California, Los Angeles, 2019 AV Professional of the Year, included in the Top 30 IT Influencers in Higher Education List and the UC Top 50 Professionals List. During the event there will be a talk called Global Change Makers in which Juan Carlos Medina from Viewhaus, Juan Carlos Gutiérrez and Carolina Sosa from Integración AV will be present on behalf of Latin America.

Another Latino present at the event as a speaker is Carlos Hernández, coordinator of UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) for the management of waste electronic and electronic equipment (WEEE) in Latin America. Since 2018 he has served as coordinator for Latin America of the project "Strengthening of National Initiatives and Strengthening of Regional Cooperation for the Environmentally Sound Management of Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) in Latin American Countries. Carlos supports the participating countries in the development of regulatory frameworks for the comprehensive management of WEEE, the construction of technical guides, the design of management systems and the treatment of hazardous fractions such as flame retardant plastics, with the aim of protecting health and the environment. environment.
