In March 2022, Mexico's Felipe Ángeles International Airport, AIFA, was inaugurated in what used to be a military air base located in the town of Santa Lucía, within the municipality of Zumpango. It has two runways and 45 boarding positions.
Camilo Madrigal, Sales Manager Central America and South America of Leyard Latin America, told AVI Latin America details of the video solutions installed in the control centers of the new airport and that used Leyard technology.
"The airport includes an Airport Operational Center (APOC) to plan, monitor and supervise airport operations, including security and air control. The APOC has high-tech control centers that are also tasked with managing national security and monitoring all of Mexico's airports along with the entire country's airspace," he said.
Installed technology
For this project at the Felipe Ángeles airport, Clarity Matrix LCDs, LED TVF and NETPIX control center graphics processors were installed.

The Planar/Leyard TVF allows you to create custom video wall display configurations with easy installation and maintenance. In addition, it offers versatile connectivity and advanced control options for an optimal viewing experience.
3. Leyard Europe's Netpix Core Processor is a highly efficient and reliable video signal processing and video wall management solution. Designed to complement Leyard's LED and LCD displays, this processor provides advanced real-time content processing and distribution capabilities. With the Netpix Core Processor, users can manage and control multiple video sources, apply visual effects, make real-time changes, and create custom video wall settings. In addition, it offers an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, which facilitates the configuration and management of display systems.
4. EyeUnify is a centralized management software platform developed by Leyard Europe, designed to efficiently control and monitor digital display systems. This software allows remote management of multiple displays and video walls, providing complete control over displayed content, turning screens on and off, scheduling schedules, and other important settings. With EyeUnify, users can intelligently and simply manage their display systems, optimizing performance, improving energy efficiency and facilitating content updates.
Camilo Madrigal detailed the client's objectives for the installation of the solutions at the airport:
1. Improvement of the visual experience: The end customer sought to provide an exceptional and captivating visual experience for its users. The image quality and advanced features of the systems, such as high-definition resolution, impressive brightness and accurate color reproduction, convinced the customer that the time was right to integrate and upgrade their display infrastructure.
2. Space optimization: The aforementioned systems, such as Planar LCDs Clarity Matrix and Planar/Leyard TVF, offer elegant design features and bezel-less display technology that allows you to create video walls without interruptions. This allowed the customer to make the most of available space and maximize content display in high-traffic areas such as control rooms, showrooms or digital signage environments.
3. Flexibility and customization: The aforementioned systems offer flexible and customizable options to suit the specific needs of the end customer. The ability to create custom video wall configurations, versatility in connectivity and advanced control options provided the customer with the freedom to design solutions tailored to their specific requirements and goals.
4. Efficiency in management and maintenance: The integration of the systems was also driven by the ability to facilitate the management and maintenance of screens and video walls. The availability of solutions such as the Netpix Core Processor and EyeUnify allowed the customer to centrally control and monitor all screens, apply changes in real time, manage content and make updates more efficiently, saving time and resources.
