Arcotel has a new data center

arcotel

Ecuador. The Telecommunications Regulation and Control Agency, ARCOTEL, has a new Data Center, with international standards and applying best practices, based on specifications and recommendations of international organizations.

The infrastructure that existed in the institution's data centers needed to be updated and that it meets the optimal physical conditions, operability, reliability and security, which allow to house and operate the data processing systems, servers and telecommunications.

Minister Maino stressed that the Data Center will have several functions, among which it stands out to be the repository of information of the mobile operators of the country. The servers will perform backup tasks for national telephone users, saving for example their IMEI number, which being a unique identity code of the mobile phone, it is possible to know if a cellular device has been included in the global list of stolen, lost or lost mobile devices.

The Executive Director of Arcotel, Juan Carlos Soria, said: "We have a better infrastructure to join the highest international standards, which allow us to process and store data efficiently, effectively and securely."

- Visual monitoring system of the Data Center.
- Fire detection and extinguishing system, based on a clean agent, friendly to the environment, does not cause harm to humans or equipment.
