LG and HCA companies present Smart home experience

LG ces

CES. In conjunction with other member companies of the Home Connectivity Alliance, HCA, of which it serves on the board of directors, LG presented a smart home experience at CES 2023.

The exhibit demonstrates the interoperability enabled under the new HCA 1.0 specification, whereby smart home solutions from different brands work together seamlessly to deliver true connected home comfort.

Inside the HCA booth at CES, LG is showcasing its latest smart appliances, including the MoodUP refrigerator, WashTower washing solution, ARTCOOL Gallery air conditioner and Puri with Care AeroTower, along with those of other alliance members.

Visitors will be able to see the realization of HCA's "Any App for Any Device" vision, which introduces users to the ability to manage each brand's products through each brand's smart control app, such as LG's intuitive ThinQ app. This new level of interoperability is now supported by HCA member companies, including LG.

Using existing industry standards to define cloud-to-cloud (C2C) interoperability guidelines, the new HCA 1.0 specification was established to ensure that appliances, TVs, and HVAC systems can seamlessly interoperate with each other, regardless of brand. In addition to the newly released models, consumers can continue to use smart appliances and HVAC solutions that customers already have at home and are covered by the HCA 1.0 specification, without having to install any major firmware updates.

In addition, the HCA 1.0 specification will help member enterprises make the smart home more sustainable in the future, leveraging data collected from alliance members' devices to gain insights into usage and improve energy management.
