Launches software-defined Wi-Fi 6E solutions

Cambium Networks wifi 6E

Latin America. Cambium Networks, the world's leading manufacturer of wireless networking solutions, announced the launch of new 6E Wi-Fi solutions for businesses. Cambium Networks' XE Series Wi-Fi 6E software-defined access point with Intelligent Migration Assistant delivers industry-leading performance across all three Wi-Fi bands (6, 5, and 2.4 GHz).

Cambium Networks' software-defined radios enable cost-effective migration to the new 6 GHz band available. The solution's unique multi-radio architecture scales to support high-density device deployments.

"The expansion of Wi-Fi to 6 GHz opens up a lot of capacity that we can leverage across our campus' wireless network, particularly in dense areas like conference rooms and libraries," said Donna Hayden, chief information officer at Alcorn State University. "Cambium Networks' new 6E Wi-Fi access points are perfectly suited to campus environments and over time, will allow us to move strategically to 6 GHz."

Wi-Fi 6E triples the spectrum available for Wi-Fi use by adding support for the 6 GHz band, allowing for faster and more reliable wireless access. In addition, they allow network operators to not only add support for 6 GHz to their networks, but also optimize how and when it is used. Service providers and businesses in education, healthcare, public places and more will benefit from the new spectrum, expanding and improving customer service by enabling better video, voice and data streaming experiences.

"As we work with our customers to build their networks, Cambium Networks' new range of XE Wi-Fi 6/6E access points allows us to continue building high-density wireless networks that provide easy-to-deploy, manageable and robustly performing Wi-Fi networks today, as well as future-proofing for the new 6 GHz band." said Sean Vollmer, chief executive of Information Systems Engineering, a distributor of Cambium Networks in South Africa. "Investment protection becomes a very important criterion when selecting the solution you want to implement."

Cambium Networks' Wi-Fi 6E solution includes:
Software-defined Wi-Fi 6E technology that enables 5 or 6 GHz operation selection over radio
Wi-Fi 6E Intelligent Migration Assistant automates the transition to 6 GHz.
5-spoke, tri-band 8×8/4×4 Wi-Fi 6/6E access point designed for high-density use cases.

"Qualcomm Technologies is a driving force that delivers Wi-Fi 6E, enabling our customers to innovate and deliver great Wi-Fi experiences to their end users," said Ganesh Swaminathan, vice president of product management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. "We are excited to continue our long-standing collaboration with Cambium to deliver powerful solutions, based on Networking Pro Series platforms, that provide the network capacity that businesses require today and in the future."

The first two access points of the XE Series are:

XE3-4
3-radio access point in a 4×4/2×2 configuration with 5/6 GHz SDR.
Designed for a wide range of use cases in enterprise and service provider networks where reliable wireless performance is important.
