Mauricio Escobar new account manager for Latam de Atlona

atlona, mauricio escobar

Latin America. Panduit, owner of Atlona, appointed Mauricio Escobar as its new Caribbean and Latin American channel account manager for the company's Audio and Video unit, who will focus exclusively on the Atlona business.

Under the direction of Carlos Arochi, Panduit's Director of Network Infrastructure for Latin America, Escobar will be responsible for driving sales growth and business development through its growing regional channel, as well as managing the strategic initiatives that bring Panduit and Atlona closer together for AV and Information Technology (IT) business opportunities.

"Mauricio's knowledge of the AV and IT market, and his understanding of national and local cultures across Latin America, position him for great success in this important new position," said Arochi. "Panduit and Atlona believe in the importance of a strong network of channel partners to increase sales and brand visibility with the professionals who buy, install and use our products on a daily basis. We are excited about the energy and expertise Mauricio brings to the company and will be attentive to his contributions."

Mauricio comes to Atlona with 17 years of experience in the AV and IT industry, and a solid knowledge in channel management and sales. He spent six years at Barco as regional director of channel sales, where he successfully led the company's Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) channel strategy for the ProAV corporate business unit. Their strategy placed a heavy emphasis on collaboration solutions for the corporate vertical, which included some of the region's first BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) systems.

His strong BYOD experience and collaboration will be essential in introducing Atlona to new corporate and education clients throughout the CALA region, including Mexico, Central and South America.

"Collaboration is an essential part of our lives today, whether it's within corporate facilities or working from home," Escobar says, adding that such collaboration is now a substantial component in education for blended learning models. "Technology trends are moving faster than ever, and Atlona relies on a strong pipeline to ensure installers and end users understand the value and innovation that Atlona's collaboration solutions bring. We will work more closely than ever with our distributors, intermediaries and integrating partners, and also in new ways, placing greater emphasis on training and education."

Mauricio adds that Atlona further differentiates itself from its competitors thanks to its relationship with Panduit, which brings a full range of IT infrastructure solutions to complement Atlona's collaboration, connectivity and control solutions. Mauricio's experience in BYOD makes Atlona's new WAVE-101 wireless presentation system particularly appealing to him, as it will simplify the way content is presented and shared within modern, IT-connected classrooms and meeting spaces.

According to Panduit, the Caribbean and Latin American region is increasingly crowded, so the company continues to invest in regional talent to drive the global growth of the business.
