R&M Expands Data Center Distributor Family

Netscale 48, R&MLatin America. Reichle & De-Massari, R&M, expands its family of high-density fiber optic distributors for data centers with a mixed-use version of fiber optic and copper connections.

The new Netscale 48 connection panel has, as the name suggests, 48 ports. It has the height of a unit in a 19" rack. The main novelty is the double function. Along with fiber optic cabling, the panel accepts copper cabling. Until now, two height units were needed in data centers to bring the two transmission media together in a single rack. With Netscale 48, fiber optic and copper cabling can be combined into a single unit of height in the smallest spaces of data centers and in the LAN environment. This compact mixed-media solution helps free up valuable space for more cabling, switches, and servers.

The Netscale 48 mixed media platform can be equipped with all types of adapters currently available on the market. Among them are the fiber optic connectors LC, SC, MPO, E-2000™ and even the latest CS, SN, MDC types of the "Very Small Form Factor" (VSFF) class. R&M Cat products. 6A ISO, Cat 6A EL and Cat. 8 can be used for copper connectivity.

R&M supplies pre-finished wiring systems that technicians will find easy to both install and remove. The optical fibers are spliced directly into the platform. Netscale 48 is designed so that changes can be made without disrupting the network. Another novelty is the integrated connection cable manager. Save additional height units that take up space with cable guides at the front.
