"ConsorcioTec is a strategic ally to be more competitive"

antonio sandoval, db systemsLatin America. dB Systems is a Colombian company, founded in 2009 in the City of Cartagena. Its operation is mainly based on projects in the government and private sectors, including its different verticals such as banking, finance, health and education.

Antonio Sandoval, General Manager of dB Systems told AVI Latin America that although its operation is in Colombia, "we have had experience carrying out projects in countries such as Peru, Chile and the United States. Today we have the support of the most prestigious manufacturers in the market and the recognition of this for the quality of our human resources and our services".

He stressed that the industry in Latin America, and especially in Colombia, has come with a constant growth and has also matured at the same pace. "Today, I believe that there is a network of integrators, which alliances such as ConsorcioTec reinforce, which allow us to grow in the experiences of our customers, our brands and what we used to see as our competitors, today, our strategic allies. This has allowed the construction of bridges of communication and collaboration that did not exist before, making the vision of growth of our companies, a sustainable and clear objective".

As an opportunity to be able to bring an even greater portfolio to its customers and be more competitive, Antonio Sandoval described the possibility offered by being part of ConsorcioTec, the first purchasing group in Latin America.

"It is an excellent opportunity to contribute and receive value from the Latin American AV Integrators community. Our main idea is to grow hand in hand with our allies. ConsorcioTec gives us the opportunity to access new technologies, new markets and new solutions. Likewise, we see the potential to grow our human resource, through the alliance with their brands and with the rest of the community," he said.

Finally, on the impact that the pandemic generated by Covid 19 will have on the AV industry, the manager of dB Systems commented that "COVID-19 is definitely changing the way we interact and see technology. One of the main changes that we will see in the short term, is that of the control mechanisms of AV systems, which has already awakened the creativity of developers to generate control solutions for the mobile devices of their users, control by voice or by gesticulation, without the need to interact with touch screens. Additionally, in the future, I believe that it will bring an integration with technologies that were previously relatively foreign to us, and that although they represented value for our solutions, they will force their implementation within the AV standard".

In others, he pointed to cameras that introduce BigData in a tangible way, by reporting the number of occupants of a room and determining whether the capacity is appropriate or not, to respect social distancing. "Regardless of the fact that this probably does not apply in a year (or at least not in the same way), it will have left us with the experience of how to adapt solutions from other markets and above all, it will have been a great lesson in adaptability."

About ConsorcioTec
