Supercines installs first RealLaser projectors in Ecuador

Ecuador. Ecuador's largest cinema chain, Supercines, has just opened a new eight-room multiplex in the Ambato shopping center with Christie Vive Audio and Christie's pure RGB laser projectors, the first of their kind to be installed in the country. The complex lobby has also been equipped with 60 Christie Access series LCD panels for the lobby's digital signage.

The operation has been carried out through the TMPC integrator, which supplied and installed all Christie equipment in the brand new complex. Supercines has 22 multiplexes in 15 cities of the country that add up to 180 screens.

The new Supercines Ambato, located in the city of the same name, has stadium rooms, love seats and VIP areas where spectators can enjoy their films in comfortable reclining leather seats. The total capacity of the cinema is 1,225 people.

Seven of the rooms in the new multiplex feature the Christie CP2315-RGB projector based on Christie RealLaser lighting technology, which ensures excellent image quality and brightness levels above DCI standards throughout the projector's natural life.

"We decided on pure RGB laser technology for this project because of all the technological advantages, image quality, and savings in the short, medium and long term that it offers. They are projectors that provide us with excellent performance, and the fact of being the first to have this technology in Ecuador allows us to be at the forefront and remain the number one chain in the country," said Marcel Morán, general manager of Supercines.

These rooms also incorporate the Christie Vive Audio sound system, with LA1 display channel speakers, LS4S surround speakers and S115 subwoofers in 7.1 configurations. "This is the second complex that we equipped with Christie Vive Audio and the truth is that it is a solution that offers us great fidelity, sharpness and clarity in the sound, in addition to its speakers are very aesthetic," said Marcel Morán.

Finally, Supercines Ambato has also relied on Christie to animate its lobbies with digital signage. The complex has deployed 60 Christie UHD551-L LCD panels of the Christie Access series. These are 55-inch displays and 4K UHD resolution of affordable price, designed for 16/7 operation, with built-in speakers and optional touch coating.

"We are delighted that Supercines has relied on our technology for this cutting-edge multiplex, the most advanced in the country. Supercines' clear commitment to our company, not only with projection, but also with audio and digital signage, reaffirms us as the global supplier par excellence for cinemas of all sizes and budgets," said Diego López, christie's general manager in the NOLA region.
