Kolo transforms to continue growing

Mexico. To face the exponential growth it has had during the last 3 years, with a sustained double-digit sales growth rate, Kolo's directors decided to execute a transformation plan to migrate to being a hybrid between integrators and advertising agency.

Germán Robles, CEO of Kolo, explained to AVI LATINOAMÉRICA that "now we are a kind of agency, a hybrid that has both parties. We are working with part of experience design, which implies focusing more on design issues, service. In that sense, two years ago we changed our slogan to include experience and digital."

He added that they evolved from being a company that sells and integrates screens to a service company that designs, installs, maintains, generates content, manages content, so he maintains that they are a kind of advertising agency and integrator.

This process was initiated due to market dynamics. The market is flexible and fast-changing. "We identified that the market was shifting to simpler, easier-to-install products that the user can do, and that's starting to diminish the opportunity for integrators. But for the issue of service, great opportunities are opening up," said the CEO of Kolo.

Apex Awards Winner
One of the results achieved so far with this transformation process is to have been winners, in the Gold category, of the DSE Apex Awards 2019, in the Public Spaces category with the project "Ampliación Paseo Interlomas".

In this regard, Germán Robles pointed out that what was done in this space was to transform it into a digital space. "Together with the client, the desired experience for the mall was designed. It is the fusion of architecture, design and content. It was a project that took us 8 months of work, much of it dedicated to the design and execution of structures."

The intervention in this space involved having camera design, with interaction, self-generative content, the distribution of the 4 sections intervened with screens, two on the façade, a dome of 280 square meters installed on the roof facing the floor, which generated mechanical challenges and an arch.
