Epson continues to lead the projector market in Latam

Latin America. Epson continues to position itself as one of the leading manufacturers of video projectors in Latin America and Mexico. The market study conducted by PMA Research, shows that Epson has 63% of the market, thanks to the more than 330,000 units sold during all of 2018.

Currently, there is a greater demand in the projector market for being a product that provides great benefits in the home environment, but also in the corporate and education, at a considerably economic cost. The arrival of UHD (Ultra High Definition) models, affordable in the consumer market, and laser lighting in models in high-end segments, have enabled further market development.

The company maintained its leadership within the main markets of Latin America: in Mexico it obtained a 60% market share, in Brazil 57%, and in the rest of the region it accumulated 68%.

Within the region, Epson also continues to strengthen its position in the education sector, reaching 83% share through interactive and ultra-short-throw projectors. At the same time, in other segments where the company was able to reflect its growth this year was in the 6,000 lumens High Brightness projectors, and laser projectors. In the first it managed to reach 47% of the market and positioned itself as number one, while in the second it obtained 62%, also acquiring a leading position.

"Our success is due to a continuous effort to improve, and to our active listening to our customers to understand what their needs are. We have improved product planning, and even the business approach on several occasions over the past few years, based on that valuable knowledge. In addition, during 2018 Epson made several launches of strategic products, including projectors for education, corporate, home and professional, which allowed us to strengthen our solid position in the market, "said Juan Campos, Product Group Manager of Video Projectors for Latin America.

Worldwide, Epson has achieved the number one in market share for the video projector sector for the 18th consecutive year, with total sales of 31 million units during 2018.
