Dominican Republic. Located in the very heart of the Caribbean, with intense humidity and frequent torrential rains, this luxury resort needed, in addition to an excellent design, a package of reliable and durable luminaires as part of a permanent installation.
The Luxury Bahia Principe Fantasia contacted the Spanish company Capicúa, directed by Javier Álvarez, in order to create a unique entertainment experience, complementing its world of magic and fun with a unique lighting show. Alvarez then contacted SGM, certain that only the Danish manufacturer could do the job.
"Considering the climatic conditions of the Dominican Republic, with constant humidity and heavy rains, it was absolutely necessary to use SGM luminaires," said Javier Álvarez.
With the main objective of transforming this luxury resort into a multi-space capable of hosting shows as well as international artists, Manuel Vicente designed a mixture between architectural areas full of fantasy, show lighting and video mapping. Taking full advantage of the luminaires, and especially the versatile P-5 POI, Vicente and Álvarez were able to create an installation worthy of the best fairy tale in the popular tourist destination of Punta Cana.
"The P-5 POI was the ideal luminaire to illuminate buildings, facades, architectural structures and thematic attractions thanks to its high IP protection, five years warranty and the number of opticians available," says Vicente.
Bahia Principe is a Spanish group with resorts around the Caribbean. The Luxury Bahia Principe Fantasia provides its visitors with "a world of entertainment full of magic and sensations". As an all-inclusive hotel for high-end tourists, this resort provides all the amenities one can imagine, with beaches, swimming pools, theater, clubs and restaurants.
"A resort in the Caribbean with castles, out of a fairy tale. Welcome to a wonderful world where anything is possible. A charming place for children and adults, where taking a walk, dining or visiting the facilities becomes something magical, "says the resort itself.
The choice of SGM luminaires for permanent installation ended up being proven as a wise decision. Shortly after installation, the resort was affected by torrential rains. However, the rain did not affect the SGM luminaires.
With this stunning installation, the fairytale atmosphere continues as night falls; that's when the real magic begins.
