Expo KNX 2017 changes the way to automate in Mexico

Mexico. With great success, Expo KNX Mexico was held at the facilities of the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), Mexico City Campus, which received the visit of hundreds of students from architecture and engineering careers who showed their interest in knowing the standard for smart homes and buildings leading worldwide.

This event had an exhibition area, networking areas, as well as a series of conferences: "Visualization and Mobile Applications in KNX Automation Systems", given by Guillermo Bribiesca of the company ABB; "KNX Control Systems to Achieve LEED Certification", taught by the company JUNG and Revitaliza; "Lighting in the ioT era. Designed with KNX", taught by the company Estevez; as well as "The future of Intelligent Building will be Possible with KNX", by Rimack Quiñones Osorio, from the company PROINGENIUM, among others. Among the brands that participated in the Expo are: ABB, Estevez, JUNG, STEINEL.

The person in charge of the standard in Mexico, the engineer Maribel Pacheco, commented that KNX's link with Tec de Monterrey, began three years ago, through the training of teachers in the control of buildings, "which has allowed to work with the faculty, who have seen the panorama of control and automation at another level, teaching students new technologies."

Within the Tec de Monterrey, projects have been initiated at the doctoral level of technology that use this standard, such is the case of an office that allows measuring people's emotions through the type of light, air conditioning, as well as music.

This protocol has caused great interest in the faculties of engineering and architecture because it integrates systems that can communicate with other brands focused on lighting, air conditioning, blinds, appliance ignition, among others, that is, if the end user wanted to integrate various brands, he could easily do so.

Due to this particularity of open protocol, the technology used in the projects is backed with 25 years, in addition to the fact that it can easily integrate new technology.

The members of KNX are: Companies that manufacture or distribute products in the national market; wholesalers and distributors: companies that distribute products in the domestic market.

As well as companies, which participate in the integration of KNX solutions in homes and buildings (designers, system integrators, consultants, prescribers and architects), users,  private individuals or companies that use KNX solutions (owners of buildings and homes, national builders of houses, KNX Training Centers and Universities).
