They seek to overcome talent deficits in the technology industry

Compromiso Tech

Latin America. The Information Technology and IT industry is growing rapidly and human resources with digital skills are insufficient to meet the current labor demand demanded by this market.

According to the study prepared by the consultancy Korn Ferry, by 2030 more than 85 million jobs will not be able to be occupied due to the lack of digital talents, causing companies to stop receiving profits of more than USD 8.4 billion.

Faced with this adverse scenario, which affects the development and growth of the technology industry throughout Latin America, a business movement has emerged in Chile grouped under the name "Compromiso Tech" and whose slogan is #SinJuniorsNoHaySeniors. This association aims to address this problem by encouraging companies to create the necessary conditions for hiring people with high potential, but who do not have work experience, promoting a culture of continuous learning within organizations and creating greater job opportunities for these professional profiles.

"In an industry that increasingly demands more digital talent, beginners are called to be protagonists, agents of change and fundamental pieces for the development of the technology industry. It is for this reason that I call on all leaders of large IT companies to join the 'Tech Commitment' and together establish the pillars to promote the growth and sustainability of the technology market in Chile and throughout Latin America, "says Diego Arias, creator of Compromiso Tech and founding partner of Desafío Latam, digital talent academy that ventures into Mexico.

Felipe Cuadra, CXO and Co-founder of Rankmi, a people management platform at the Latam level and founding partners of "Compromiso Tech", highlights that this initiative seeks to promote the hiring of those professionals with less experience, but with high potential, "the demand for this type of profile is higher than the number of people who meet these requirements; Training and upskilling by organizations is vital, both to fill those positions related to technology, and to achieve retention and care of our talents."

The initiative has aroused great interest in the startup ecosystem and in large transnational companies linked to the technology industry. Such has been the impact of this new organization, that in its creation recognized names joined as founding partners, among them, Oracle, Banco Itaú, Clever IT, Hireline, Rankmi, and currently, they are in talks to add executives from other leading companies in the IT sector.

Companies, startups and foundations interested in joining the "Tech Commitment" can do so through the following web link https://www.compromisotech.com There you will find the values that underpin this crusade and the requirements to be part of this new non-profit business movement. Finally, those who join this initiative will receive the "Tech Commitment Seal" that will distinguish them as an organization that is implementing good practices for the development of the technology industry.
