Preparing for the storm

The economic situation of Latin America in the last decade has been of general growth in almost all the countries of the region, which has allowed to overcome the gap that was presented while a new technology arrived, after six months or more of having been launched in industrialized markets such as the United States or Europe.

Unfortunately, multilateral organizations such as ECLAC, the Inter-American Development Bank and the International Monetary Fund have agreed on their forecasts, through which they predict difficulties for the economy of the country's countries to continue growing at the rate of recent years.

What to do so that the audiovisual industry is not affected if this panorama is true? Undoubtedly, this is the question that all of us who in some way will be part of it must ask ourselves and from now on begin to prepare for what may come.

Having more and more training and knowledge about the advances of the industry will allow you to make a difference in each of the facilities. Innovation, creativity and AV integration with ICT are some key aspects to keep in mind when facing new businesses.

Another important point is at the level of distributors. I have known cases in which they are more concerned with making a sale than with winning a customer and generating a close relationship in the future. And in this logic, competition is made through the cost of equipment and causing incalculable future effects for the entire market.

Therefore, with greater training and knowledge, they will be able to go from selling a box, a software, to selling a solution appropriate to the needs and requirements of the client and begin to generate in the latter the awareness that the most important thing when deciding on a purchase is not the value.

These factors are not new or unknown, but neither are they applied by the entire industry. Those who do make a difference and generate healthy competition.

I am attentive to your comments on the audiovisual industry in [email protected]
