D2L reinvents corporate learning with Brightspace

Latin America. D2L reinvented the way we learn. The creator of Brightspace is now making the same proven technology available to the enterprise market around the world.

"In 2015 millennials became the largest portion of the workforce and corporations are looking for new ways to engage this social and mobile workforce that is always hyper-connected," said John Baker, CEO of D2L. "D2L has made inroads into the enterprise market as customers have been asking us to help them prepare to welcome millennials with strong learning cultures that improve engagement and productivity."

Unlike traditional systems for managing corporate learning, Brightspace was created with the millennial and modern learner in mind. The platform engages employees by incorporating personalized learning paths, mobile devices, social media content, gamification, real-time feedback, and self-assessment opportunities.

D2L entered the enterprise market at the right time. According to Gallup Research, 68 percent of employees do not commit to the company, resulting in a loss of productivity amounting to $500 billion in the United States alone. Improving engagement can increase productivity by 24 percent while retention increases 30 percent (Gallup and Deloitte University Press).

Now Brightspace for Enterprise achieves this commitment through learning with the same techniques used by 15 million students in the areas of higher education and basic and secondary education. Instead of passively watching slideshows, millennials and other students accustomed to the digital world actively participate in the content. Contrary to employees who need to adapt to the old customs of the company, the company can now adapt to the new customs of the millennial workforce.

Brightspace for Enterprise modernizes and revitalizes corporate learning with the tools they love:

. Social, Mobile and Video content that can be easily created, shared and accessed from anywhere.
. Learning and Simulations Using Games offer content through engaging methods to engage users    .
. Learning Analytics measures engagement with the company and predicts student success.
. Personalized and Informal Learning offers content adaptable to the employee's progress.

After several successful deployments in North America, Brightspace for Enterprise is now available worldwide and can be adapted so that corporations around the world can reap the same benefits. It supports various learning styles, content types, methods and tools such as gamification and simulations. The cloud platform can also be developed quickly and easily integrated into the technology that exists.
