Reducing the AV Industry's Impact on the Environment

Juan carlos gutiérrez, integración av

Colombia. For some years now, the company Integración AV has been concerned about the impact that the industry has on the environment. In 2022 alone, 62 million tons of electronic waste were generated in the world and industry has an important participation in it.

Juan Carlos Gutiérrez, representative of the Colombian integration firm, stressed that "For several years we have been working with recyclers and electronic recyclers whom we have gone to visit to make sure that they are doing their work responsibly. Hand in hand with this, we have been doing activities for the community, also generating a positive impact on people, mainly children."

He added that "Last year we first became ambassadors of SAVe and now we are part of the board of directors, SAVe is the first sustainability initiative for the audiovisual industry and has been so well received that in March of this year we had the first sustainability congress in the industry "A Call to Leaders" which was attended by representatives of the main manufacturers, some distributors and integrators and it was a space in which they talked about what will be the path to follow as an industry. In that event the Sustainable Designs and Installations committee was created that I am now leading and whose objective is to establish some guidelines or standards for the industry when designing and developing projects, I hope to be able to share with you the first version of this document soon so that together we can start to feed it together and become an increasingly responsible industry".

Working hand in hand with customers has also become essential for Integración AV on the road to sustainability, which is why they have developed some specific actions for them that, in addition to generating awareness and reducing the impact, generate tax and savings benefits.

Regarding the industry's expectations for 2024, he has good prospects, although he knows that it is a year full of challenges, but that it is up to each of the industry players to know how to face these challenges and see where the growth opportunities are for each country.
