The need to reduce the environmental impact of all economic activities is not alien to the audiovisual industry. Fortunately, more and more companies, at all levels, are concerned about this issue.
For this third edition of AVI Latin America in 2024, it was pleasant to talk with integrators and distributors in the region and learn about the different activities they are proposing and executing on a day-to-day basis with their companies, some with a one-off scope and others with a broad vision that link their customers and even benefit third parties.
One of the most common plans is the management of electronic waste. To do this, they are working with third-party companies to give a correct disposition to the equipment that is no longer used. In other cases, when AV equipment that is still in good condition is replaced, it is being installed in schools or foundations that can give it a second life, with the support of integrators.
Other initiatives are the use of solar energy in offices and, through integrations, contribute to the reduction of energy consumption in the intervened spaces.
And from the manufacturers, initiatives are also presented. In the large fairs, the use of recycled and friendly materials for the production of stands has grown, they designate spaces to present their sustainable initiatives and some have even begun to use recycled material for the production of products or their packaging.
Undoubtedly, the AV industry has a commitment to sustainability that AVI Latin America recognizes and contributes to continue growing.
