Latin America. Responding to the growing needs of digital buildings and all things connected, including smart lighting and its high demands, the Panduit company continues with its research and development initiatives.
According to Marco Damian, manager of Technical Engineering at Panduit, this type of technology requires the permanent development of the physical means of the infrastructure. "These lighting applications have great implications on the grid because they require a lot of energy and this generates a scaling increase in temperature, so we have had to develop high-class cables that include special coatings capable of withstanding the intense heat that is generated there"
"Such cables, manufactured with a technology called Matrix, have the ability to prevent heat buildup, which affects the performance of the infrastructure. Likewise, we have developed the cables of reduced diameter, used for the efficient administration of the spaces to which the information will arrive, that is, the rooms of computer equipment and those of telecommunications, with which a high performance is maintained in a smaller space", concludes Marco Damian.
Carolina Oxté, Manager of Architectural Systems at Signify, says that new developments such as Interact Pro, a software specialized in intelligent lighting and bio adaptive light requires a correct diet to achieve the radical change in the lighting of work sites. "It has been shown that in these work environments you can achieve increases of up to 23% in productivity and up to 25% in the mental functioning and memory of employees who work in spaces illuminated with this new technology."
Oxte, ensures that this application has the ability to use the intensity and temperature of the lighting to "tie" the circadian cycle of the human body, compensating the outside light with that of its work environment. "By achieving this compensation, humans secrete more serotonin and, in doing so, the body reacts by keeping us more awake and improving our performance."
With an adequate structural robustness, the new system can be connected to occupancy sensors to manage lighting scenes, energy optimization, predictive maintenance, measurement of the reduction of Co2 in the environment and, a fundamental element for companies, the measurement of expenses for electricity consumption that results in significant financial savings per month.
Likewise, these new platforms have a high capacity to adapt to various spaces and uses, as they are designed for functionalities in the city, retail, industry and outdoors, where they can demonstrate their great capabilities to modify environmental scenes, even in large outdoor spaces.
