Mexico. Self-powered MM-4XP miniature speakers, UMS-1P and 700-HP subwoofers, as well as UPJ-1P VariO and UPM-1P speakers, are some of the equipment selected by Mexico City bars to improve the sound experience of their customers and visitors.
The equipment, provided by Meyer Sound, was chosen by the audio engineer Ramón Salazar, in charge of the modernization of the sound of the renowned bars AM, PM, Rexo, Artic Bar, and Bar La Capital.
The systems have been tested for six years, during which time the audio equipment in bars began to be changed, resisting presentations by DJs and bands that have pushed the system above 130 dB, without having a blown unit or defects in the sound.
The PM implemented a Meyer Sound system in 2006 with two UPA-1P speakers, two UPJ-1P speakers and two 700-HP subwoofers. Since the PM and AM are adjacent, the systems share a system for speaker control with a Galileo 616 processor. That same year, the Rexo acquired UPM-1P speakers and UMS-1P subwoofer.
The ice chamber in the Artic Bar was also improved. This is at -15°C, and the UPM-1P speakers warm the atmosphere while customers dressed in fur relax.
In 2010, the modern Bar La Capital opened a live music venue upstairs, equipped with eight M'elodie linear array speakers, four 700-HP subwoofers and a speaker control system with a Galileo 408 processor.
