The firm predicts that the cost of LED lights used in various products will be reduced by between 80 and 90% in the next 10 years, being that the main reason for the increase in the use of this type of lamps in commercial lighting projects.
In addition to the above, the company also forecast that the global market for commercial lighting will reach US $ 42,000 million in 2011, reach its peak in 2012 with US $ 54,000 million and then gradually decrease and stabilize at US $ 30,000 million by 2021.
Finally, Pike Research noted that incandescent luminaires will be almost completely eliminated over the course of the next 10 years. Similarly, the 52% share expected of LED lights will be given by stealing the market for compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), high intensity discharge lighting (HID) and linear fluorescent lamps.
