Tactus Digital Touch Mixer from Crest Audio
Within the professional audio market, probably the most competitive and vibrant segment is that of digital mixers. The group Crest Audio / Peavey has not participated so far in these fights, something that aims to change with crest's Tectusmixing system, which launches the market by allying with Waves.
Designed to work with Waves' new SoundGrid eMotion mixer, the Tactus features a touchscreen (the width of a 19" rack) as the control surface. The reference in that type of product is obviously Mackie's DL1608 for iPad, but here we are talking about greater capacities, with stage racks and up to 64 channels. Personally I am not convinced to mix with the finger on a screen (and less outdoors with a lot of sun), but the truth is the market success of the Mackie has been substantial.
