Pre-connectorized solutions, the future of telecommunications

furukawaLatin America. The world has undergone drastic changes in recent months due to Covid-19, affecting people's lives both personally and professionally. With mandatory isolation, data traffic in some countries increased by 40%, thanks to remote work, video conferencing services, virtual classes, cloud storage, and unlimited gaming and video on demand entertainment.

The reality is even more digital, and these sudden changes have exposed some weaknesses in telecommunications networks. The perception of customers about the quality of the Internet services provided by their operator has worsened. And this is due to greater instability in the networks, not having the contracted bandwidth, or the quality of the support that is being provided to operators.

It is impossible not to mention, also, the economic impact of the post-pandemic scenario that, with the risk of recession in some countries, will require a better analysis of investments, as well as the need to have innovative solutions that optimize resources and make management and implementation simpler and mainly efficient.

For this reason, the telecommunications sector must focus its efforts on the great business opportunity that is being presented, start planning, building and developing efficient optical networks to ensure the long-term success of the business. And it is at this point that Furukawa Electric, highlights the importance of pre-connectorized optical networks, as a competitive advantage to face this scenario of great uncertainty.

Pre-connector optical networks
In constant evolution, pre-connector optical networks are examples of efficient solutions, which are designed to allow a deployment of services quickly, reliably and at the same time, offers cost reduction.

Its use has been growing as the Engineering, O&M and Sales departments of the main telecommunications operators are faced with increasingly bold goals and increasingly strong and aggressive competition.

For this reason, pre-connectorised optical solutions have proven to be fundamental to achieving these objectives; however, knowing how to choose the one that best suits the reality and plans of a company, is vital to ensure the survival of the business or guarantee a competitive advantage.

Telecommunications companies must invest in converged optical access networks, ready for high speeds, low latency, high quality of service, high number of connected devices, under the premise of providing excellent and quality service to support current and future demands.
