Plantronics, a company that in recent months had acquired Polycom, announced that both begin to operate as one and are now called Poly, a technology company focused on the human experience of communications and collaboration, with the aim of making communication as rich and natural as the person.
Poly, which means "many," leverages the legendary audio and video expertise of Plantronics and Polycom and its wide range of smart endpoints connect between unified communications platforms to reduce distractions, complexity and distance in the modern workplace. Poly aims to be the solution of choice when and where collaboration clouds reach people.
"Today I feel like my first day as CEO of a new company. We see an unlimited opportunity for how people communicate and collaborate today. With advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning and new technologies, we see a future where Poly makes the connection, then quietly walks away to become the only thing not noticeable in the meeting," said Joe Burton, President and CEO of Poly.
Poly will focus on four distinct areas of innovation:

- Help people collaborate, in their own way.
- Design solutions that are mobile-first for the modern workforce.
- Advancing cloud services that help IT professionals and users get more out of their devices.
The Poly logo honors the company's new path forward, as well as its legacy: its lava-red color and letter angle form a propeller to reflect Plantronics' 60-year-old aviation lineage, while its three legs are inspired by the design of Polycom's iconic conference phone.
