Argentina. The Argentine Chamber of Musical Instruments, Audio, Video and Lighting (CAIMAVI) announced the celebration of "La Semana de la Música" and its participation in the next edition of the International Music Fair (BAFIM) and presented its brand new board of directors.
The entity that represents the interests and guarantees the defense of the rights of wholesalers, manufacturers, representatives and distributors of the sector organized a meeting in the Audiovisual District of the City of Buenos Aires.
Participants included Guillermo Borger (Kol-Ram), president of CAIMAVI; Diego Carullo (Macaio), vice president of CAIMAVI; Marcos Spinzi (Todomusica), and Carlos Maiocchi (Equaphon), 1st member of CAIMAVI. In addition, on behalf of the musical artists, Martín Carrizo, drummer of the Indio Solari and the Fundamentalists of Air Conditioning and Animal, among other recognized bands, was presented.
"Our activity seeks to preserve, integrate and develop the cultural industries of Argentina. We are convinced that more culture is possible, it is for this reason that our associates play a fundamental role in terms of the instruction and education of young people, as well as being facilitators of all kinds of cultural microenterprises, "said Borger.
The main representatives of the chamber, which next December will celebrate its first seven years of life, made a brief tour of the history of its activity and announced details about the economic and technological activity of the sector. Likewise, the official presentation of "La Semana de la Música" was held, an event in which, with the collaboration of the associated companies, the impulse to the artists in formation of the whole country will be promoted.
"The idea arose from the objective of promoting not only the development of all types of artists, but also to generate a mechanism of social inclusion at the national level in the field of culture. For more than six years CAIMAVI has become a tool for both the technical professional and the artists, from the theater scene to the musical stage of the most diverse genres, "explained Carullo.
Music Week will take place in September, as part of the usual celebration of Student Day. The project aims to boost the growth of artists in training and encourage more people to play an instrument or operate a console or audio, video and/ or lighting equipment.
It is a national event, in which discounts and special prices will be offered on audio, video and lighting instruments and equipment in the shops of the companies associated with CAIMAVI throughout the country. In addition, different types of free technical and artistic trainings will be held, officiated by members of the chamber, as well as the presentation of a battle of DJs and live shows.
