New compact system for live sound

Latin America. Avid introduced the compact Avid Venue S3L-X live sound system, which will allow live sound professionals to more easily meet the growing requirements of range, size, complexity and diversity of today's live sound. 

Avid Venue S3L-X allows engineers to mix and record live shows efficiently and create new material or the final mix of live event recordings for commercial purposes.

The Avid Venue S3L-X system and ProTools Software are part of the Avid Artist Suite solutions and are powered by the Avid MediaCentral Platform. When used together, they offer the most efficient, economical and tightly integrated approach to mixing and live recording productions.

The system offers expanded networking, control and processing to meet a range of demands of live performances. Customers can reduce complexity and cost by sharing the same inputs and outputs across multiple S3L-X systems, with automatic gain compensation. With its support for 64-bit AAX DSP plug-ins, plus eucon open network protocols and AVB Ethernet, the Avid Venue S3L-X system ensures compatibility with a variety of products from Avid and other companies, now and in the future.

The Avid Venue S3L-X system comes with the new Venue 4.5 software and allows live sound professionals to:

• Mix what they like, where they like: from major festivals to clubs with restricted space
• Share the same inputs and outputs on two or more Avid S3L-X systems, with automatic gain compensation
• Mix sessions on a workstation for digital audio using the Avid S3 as a standalone mixing surface and as a 4x6 audio interface
• Keep up with the latest innovations for sound processing with support for 64-bit AAX DSP plug-ins
• Enlarge or shrink the modular system to suit presentations of any size: from 16 to 64 microphone preamplifiers
• Achieve exceptional sound quality and enjoy reliable AVB Ethernet connectivity without the bulge of cables
• Achieve peak performance with twice as much RAM as the Avid S3L system
• Record directly to ProTools (or other DAW) via a simple Ethernet connection to a laptop
• Have high reliability on the tours with the robust and reinforced design of its processing engine
• Monitor with confidence through the high-power, low-noise hearing aid amplifier
