Hue, the smart light bulb for the home

altLatin America. An LED bulb for the home that promises to be the smartest in the world was presented by the Philips company. The so-called Hue allows you to control the lighting through smartphones or tablets, with predetermined environments or created by users.

To control and customize these bulbs, it is only necessary to screw them into existing lamps and connect them to the wi fi network of the house. In addition, you must download the Hue application on the mobile device and its configuration is done in minutes, allowing you to remotely control the environments with different types of lighting.

To connect to the Wi-Fi network, a Hue bridge is required that is included in the initial package of the product, which also includes three Hue light bulbs of 600 lumens (equivalent to 50 Watt), a power supply for the bridge, a LAN cable to connect the bridge to the router. This bridge allows the connection of up to 50 Hue bulbs.

Philips stressed that this system allows you to save favorite light scenes for each room or time of day and retrieve them in an instant; use any photo from your phone as a color palette to paint your room with light and relive memories; adjust the white light to offer from a warm candlelight to a vibrant, white and fresh light.

In addition, it creates environments or complements its decoration with the colors of the rainbow; controls and monitors your lights remotely when you're not at home, for your safety and peace of mind, schedules automatic schedules to help manage your daily routine and let the light wake you up revitalized, or help your loved ones fall asleep.

For the commercialization of the Philips Hue, the company made an alliance with Apple and will only be sold in its stores in the United States and Europe from November and in other regions of the world will be available in 2013.
