Mexico. With a positive part of its financial situation, which sustains double-digit annual growth, the Mexican branch of Epson celebrated 25 years of direct presence in this country with its state-of-the-art equipment.
According to Alberto Arredondo, CEO of Epson Mexico, "we are pleased to reach the first quarter of a century as a solid company, which has not interrupted its operations in all this time and has registered a continuous annual growth of at least double digits. This has allowed us to continue serving the Mexican business and home market in the face of all adversity."
The official commented that Epson Mexico was founded in 1987 from a co-investment between a group of Mexican investors and Seiko Epson Corporation and in 1992 was integrated as a subsidiary of the global Seiko Epson. The company initially manufactured its products locally, but in 1990 closed its plant to take advantage of economies of manufacturing scale in the United States and Japan.
Since then, growth has been hand in hand with solutions for diverse sectors such as government, education, industry, banking, finance and graphic arts, accompanied by the presence of technical service through about 90 authorized service centers located in the main cities of the country.
Epson Global highlighted some of its innovations for the AV industry in these years:
1988 - Creates the first glass panel for video cameras.
1989 - Enter the world of projectors with the first Epson 3LCD, the VPJ-700.
1994 - Manufactures the high-resolution liquid crystal projector.
1997 - Creates progressive magnifying lenses.
1999 - Produces a low-power color display for cell phones.
2005 - Introduces a projector that plays DVDs.
