Digital signage has become one of the best examples of the progress that the audiovisual industry is having in Latin America.
It is not uncommon to see in airports, shopping centers, hotels and other places, digital signage screens guiding visitors or travelers and presenting different advertisements. We also find large screens such as fences on the streets and roads; however, if this technology is not well used and implemented it can become a headache for those who see it and those who use it.
Nowadays many immobile fences have been replaced by very large digital signage screens that if they are not well located can go from being a good means of exposure to the worst medium and above all to create even a bad image of the companies that guide. Screens on expressways, streets or intersections that do not have signs or instruments to stop traffic properly are a danger to drivers and passers-by.
When I go home I always find a new LED screen, designed to withstand water and sun, but unfortunately it is under-used and misplaced. This is located at the intersection of two streets where there are no traffic lights that make the cars stop and can observe what is shown, so that they come quickly, are distracted by the image and do not have time to look forward to see the route and unfortunately accidents have already occurred and when talking about it first says the screen of XXX (company) and then its place of location.
That is why I want to invite you to read in this edition those errors that are made with digital signage and the opener that we have of what will be the third edition of TecnoMultimedia in Medellín, Colombia, on November 8 and 9.
