Intel Introduced New Digital Signage Kit

altInternational. Focused on simplifying the digital signage evaluation process, reducing costs, and enabling faster deployment for various market segments, including retail, healthcare, and transportation, Intel introduced the next generation of the DSEK-12 Evaluation Kit.

The kit includes an OPS-compatible Kontron media player, model KOPS800, based on the third generation of Intel Core processors, as well as a 180-day evaluation copy of windows Embedded POSReady 7.

According to statistics from the manufacturing company, its commitment to this type of product is due to the fact that they estimate that the global digital signage market will reach 10 million multimedia players, which corresponds to 22 million digital signs until 2015.

According to José Avalos, director of Visual Retail at Intel, the new solution helps simplify the process of developing and implementing digital signage, allowing companies to spend more time developing more interesting content and less time dealing with software integration.

In addition, the DSEK-12 comes with a software solution designed to deliver personalized content to consumers, while also providing retailers and advertisers with valuable analytics, anonymously monitoring user details such as gender, age and attention span and analyzing data in real time.

Once the software development is complete, the developer can choose to use the full kit or just the Kontron KOPS800 media player and deploy this part directly on any monitor compatible with the Open Pluggable Specification, OPS, allowing better scalability for different graphics and processing performance needs, without sacrificing time for market launch.
