The report also revealed that the entertainment segment will be primarily responsible for this increase in revenue, generating 82% of total profits, and will be followed by the monitoring and control and health segments.
It also concluded that the role of broadband connectivity has allowed the incorporation of new applications and improved services in facilities of this type, for example, televisions with connection, automated systems and smart meters.
"These improved applications, connected via broadband network systems, will increase revenues in that area," the report explains.
He also stressed that to achieve success in this industry the different actors must work together; installers, operators and content providers will all be able to collaborate to implement a business model that offers benefits for all parties.
The author of the report, Nitin Bhas, noted that "cable operators and broadband service providers have an important role to play, as they have an already established relationship with consumers. Incorporating other features into existing services positions them much better within the pyramid, compared to those who want to enter this market for the first time."
