International. A new trend that seeks to improve the attention in public service establishments regarding noise, is gaining strength around the world with the personalized control of noise in the environment playing with acoustics.
It is a system, called Constellation and produced by the Meyer Sound company, which has been implemented in theaters and auditoriums, but now it has been hosted by other places open to the public such as restaurants.
It combines a design, calibration and certification method with a hardware and software package, which requires each installation to be the result of a design from scratch to fit the specific circumstances and needs of the room in which it is to be installed.
The last scenario to be intervened with this system was a Mexican food restaurant opened recently in Berkeley, United States, in which 123 speakers, baffles and microphones were installed, which are centrally controlled with an iPad.
The company that developed the system explained that it eliminates the need for acoustic panels and shells, in addition to being able to adapt the acoustics of the room to different needs.
Other advantages are that it maximizes audience pleasure by improving envelope, warmth, intimacy and intensity, allows configurable presets for any combination of equalization, delay, matrix mixing, reverb and early energy settings.
It also enhances acoustics naturally using proven and patented algorithms, offers a scalable solution from small rehearsal rooms to a large room for any stage and the possibility of integrating the surround sound system for cinema.
