International. The company OEP Electrics developed a bulb without planned obsolescence, that is, without a set expiration date as these products traditionally come.
After 10 years of research, Benito Muros, manager of the company, developed a line of lighting products under LED technology, which allow a long life, with savings in energy consumption that can reach 92% and a reduction of up to 70% in CO2 emissions.
As the company explains on its website, planned obsolescence was invented between 1920 and 1930 to create lighting products that had an established expiration and thus generate market movement because the final consumer must change or restore their products.
They add that when establishing the expiration period of the product, it is taken into account that the image of the product will not be affected because its deterioration is very fast after the purchase.
The cost of this new technology, according to the prices published in the product catalog, are between 30 and 100 euros.
The products are already marketed in Europe from Spain and in some Latin American countries.
