Christie launched new projector for classrooms, halls and museums

christie

Latin America. Christie launched the Captiva DWU500S Ultra-Short Throw Laser 1DLP Projector. Designed for classrooms, conference rooms, museums, stores and other small and medium-sized applications, the DWU500S represents the third generation of the successful Captiva Series and arrives with a lot of improvements over its predecessors.

Among its features are the increase in the maximum size of the screen, a significant increase in brightness and an updated WUXGA resolution that translates into greater sharpness. The new Captiva maintains the price of previous models and guarantees 20,000 hours of reliable operation with laser lighting.

"We are delighted at the great improvement we have made in our popular Captiva Series. Now our customers enjoy greater brightness and better performance at no additional cost," said Chris Kee, Executive Director of Enterprise Product Management, Christie. "Its ultra-short throw lens makes this model perfect in a wide variety of environments, maximizing space without detriment to visual impact. We are confident that those of our partners looking for a cost-effective projector, both in price and performance, will welcome the improvements that the new update brings."

The Captiva DWU500S offers 4,500 ANSI lumens and has the capacity to display images at 1920x1200 resolution of up to 3.8 meters diagonally, with vertical or horizontal orientation, which is an increase of 50% of the maximum size of the previous Captiva model. Its four-corner geometric adjustment allows the user to present highly accurate images at all times, while its 0:25:1 ultra-short throw lens makes it perfect for space-constrained installations.

Instant on/off functionality makes it possible to focus all the attention on captivating the audience with content without having to worry about preparation and configuration times. A new wall mounting system will further facilitate the installation of the projector, improving horizontal and vertical offset.

Christie's Captiva DWU500S projector will be available from September 2021 in black and white versions.
