Cuba. Laura Pausini's concert in Havana was a memorable event, not only for the artist, given that it was her first presentation in Cuban lands in her 25-year career, but also for the public, who were able to enjoy her hits live through a high quality sound system provided by the renowned company P.M.M (Por Un Mundo Mejor), the largest rental company on the island, with offices in Cuba and Miami.
The show was free and gathered an audience of more than 250,000 people at the Ciudad Deportiva de La Habana. Despite the heavy rain, attendees enjoyed the main attraction by Laura Pausini, after the opening show of the local duo Gente de Zona.
The Clair Brothers system used consisted of i218 line array elements, the largest model of the brand, and 12" and 1.5AM 15" 1AM monitors, all amplified using more than 30 Powersoft X4, acquired through Powersoft's distributor in the Caribbean, Universal Music.
The relationship between P.M.M and Universal Music began several years ago when the Cuban company was looking for amplifiers for its sound systems and decided to acquire Powersoft X8. A short time later, he decided to also invest in X4 amplifiers that allowed him a better division and use of the system.
Mijail Díaz Ignakin, technical head of P.M.M., explained: "The good thing about Powersoft amplifiers, especially the X4 model we use, is that they are very voltage friendly thanks to their three-phase power supply technology. That makes them perfect for use in the Caribbean, because of the fickle voltage we have."
The X4's footprint and rack space are also noteworthy features. Its format of a rack space and the power provided by each unit (more than 20 kW through 4 channels) allow users to access more power with the use of fewer amplifiers. It also consumes less rack space, which is always an advantage in outdoor assemblies like this, both in terms of space efficiency and assembly time.
All amplification systems were controlled and operated through Powersoft's Armonía Pro Audio Suite software, another Powersfot user-friendly tool that assisted in programming, tuning, controlling and monitoring the system.
The innovative Interactive Tuning in Harmony feature helps with the measurement and alignment tasks of a sound system. Users can do it even calmly in their office before going to the show, and simply take the project to the place to see how it works in real life.
