Colombia. On November 10, the winner of the second version of the AV Latino Contest was awarded, which is carried out by AVI LATINOAMÉRICA magazine and seeks to recognize the best AV facilities in the region. This time the recognition was for the installation carried out in the Unasur Building in Ecuador.
Grupo CSI of Colombia and Equigrupo of Ecuador, were the companies in charge of carrying out the audiovisual installation in this building, which was inaugurated by 15 presidents of the same number of nations on December 5, 2014. The award was received within the framework of TecnoMultimedia InfoComm Colombia by Darío and Mauricio Ordoñez, father and son who were in charge of this installation.
The installation stands out because in just 123 days, with a team of more than 80 people including Electronic Engineers, Mechatronics Engineers, Scenic Lighting Engineers, Sound Engineers and Architects, this process was completed satisfactorily, providing the different actors of Unasur with an interactive space to present and discuss their ideas with the support of the most advanced technology.
This building has the configuration of the largest videowall-type display systems installed in the country, with more than 25 m2 each, located north and south of the Hall of Presidents and Planar technology, used in the most important auditoriums worldwide. These are made up of 30 monitors of 55 "each, in arrangement of 6 x 5 and supported with 60 monitors for the projection of images and content, allowing the transmission of video and audio from the control booth and the Table of Presidents. The positions of this table have connectivity facilities, microphones, data connection and access to automatic vertical ascent screens, to facilitate review of numerical reports or reading of texts.
14 17" monitors that are embedded in the tables have an electronic retractable system and allow to project the same content of the videowall system, or complementary contents to those projected in large format, providing versatility and agility in meetings. For its part, professional audio facilities of the Salon use a mixed system, in which public broadcasting and arrangements of professional speakers were implemented to optimize the sound, all controlled by a 16-input console with its own control and recording system per channel.
In the Simultaneous Translation System, key in the multiculturalism of the headquarters, there are four fixed booths and four mobile translation booths, each with two consoles integrated into the general Sound and Recording system. It also has a gooseneck type wired microphone system, consisting of 150 microphones also integrated into the system to the general system and complemented by wireless handheld and lapel microphones.
A professional LED mobile stage lighting system was proposed for the implementation of which a fixed grill was manufactured in order to support the weight of the luminaires and evenly distribute the amount of luxes / lumens for each space, managing to locate and focus the luminaires according to the distribution of the room and the relevant sections according to each event. This system provides lighting to the TV cameras and meets the characteristics -at a professional level- of a television studio, which provides the right temperature for the meetings that take place in the enclosure, so that they can be transmitted by national, international television or streaming.
All the systems implemented are scalable and are managed from the control room, where there is a control station, with capacity for 5 operators who manage the equipment of each system. Both the furniture of this station and that of the Table of Presidents, were designed by our engineers and architects, who also provide all the facilities for the operation of the equipment and systems, as well as for their technical and maintenance reviews.
Finally, in addition to the Presidents' Hall, inside the building a Multipurpose Auditorium Room with capacity for 150 people was equipped, with Scenic Lighting System, Tramoya System and Audio System of the highest fidelity, in conjunction with 13 meeting rooms in which the almost total elimination of cables was sought, prioritizing wireless connectivity and the intuitive interaction of your attendees.
