Argentina. A protocol that includes technical, precautionary, guardianship and any other rules that aim to prevent, reduce, eliminate or isolate the risks of the different jobs and their relationship with lighting, was presented by the Argentine government.
The Superintendence of Occupational Risks of that country, the entity in charge of preparing the Protocol for the measurement of lighting and noise in the work environment, established the parameters with which lighting must be measured, an evaluation that will be valid for one year.
To make the measurement, which must be audited by the Occupational Risk Insurers, an Instruction was created to complete the protocol, which consists of 41 steps to follow and the data are recorded in a form.
Among the parameters indicated are: indicate whether the Lighting to be measured is natural, artificial or mixed; the type of source installed, incandescent, discharge or mixed; the type of lighting system that exists, indicating whether it is general, localized or mixed; the values of the ratio E minimum = (E mean)/2, uniformity of illuminance and the value obtained (in lux) of the measurement made.
The new standard established that the minimum values of the lighting measurement in the work environment of a sales outlet will be 100 lux. For more information click here.
