Panasonic launches the 30 Series of plasma screens, with 3D and lower consumption

Panasonic has announced the launch of its 30 series of plasma screens, which replace the 20 series. The new range includes 42", 50", 60" and 65" models, which feature 3D function, are rugged and energy efficient. They are ideal for use in presentations, digital signage, visualization and design, as well as for home theater applications.

Panasonic adds the new 60" size to its professional line. With the constant increase in the market trend towards larger screens and a very competitive retail price, the new 60" model is expected to be very successful since its launch.

The new series has two types of models, PH and PF, to contemplate the variety of applications of medium and large format screens. The PF30 models are 3D ready with dual HD-SDI and DVI-D panels that allow simultaneous 3D input. Includes 42", 50", 60" and 65" displays, all with a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, high luminous efficiency to emit accurate, high-contrast images, and a wide viewing angle, essential features for signage or design applications, as well as for home theater. The high resolution of moving images recreates scenes with clear, precise and without wake movement. Each display comes equipped with "Slot 2.0" function ports to support various digital interfaces.

The PH30 models have been designed to significantly reduce power consumption compared to previous models. The 42" screen, for example, consumes 35% less energy than its predecessor of the 20 series (reducing the expense from 275w to 175w) and the 50% consumes 30% less.

"This new series is a reflection of the industry's priorities right now, with 3D and energy efficiency at the forefront," said David Martin, Managing Director of Professional Display Marketing at Panasonic Marketing Europe. "Professional 3D plasmas are becoming increasingly popular and this range brings 3D functions to medium-sized displays, making them accessible to more markets."

Each of Panasonic's professional displays are now part of the Offset for Life initiative, which allows customers to offset the carbon emitted by using their displays. By signing up for this non-profit program and purchasing credits, Panasonic will invest on behalf of the user in Golden Standard projects, those that make the most significant contribution to the sustainable development of the local communities in which the projects are carried out.

The 30 series is now available in Europe.
