USA. USA Harman International Industries, a provider of audio and infotainment electronics for home, vehicle and sound professionals, announced at InfoComm '09 an agreement between its BSS division and NETGEAR®, Inc., a global provider of commercially and technologically innovative network solutions.

From this agreement, the first AVB (Audio Video Bridge) switches for multichannel audio and video in network will be launched on standardized Ethernet. The announcement involves the immediate introduction of a pair of 16- and 24-port switches with specialized AVB hardware and software to be used in a wide range of fixed-installation audio-video applications. Standardized multi-channel audio and video over Ethernet offer professionals and their customers considerable savings in complex AV systems, while enabling integration, ease of use, functionality and system control.
