The systems integrator network TV Magic, announced that it was selected as a consultant in the area of audio and video for the renovation of the New York State Theater, home of the ballet and opera of this city, which are two of the most important dance and opera companies in the world. The theater is one of the three main halls of the famous Lincoln Center, along with the Metropolitan Opera House and the Avery Fisher Hall, home of the New York Philharmonic.

As part of this great renovation, the theater wants to incorporate an audio and video system that will meet the needs of both companies in this field. According to Ken Tabachnick, general director of the New York ballet, "ballet and opera plan to have a technologically advanced theater that will enable the capture, storage, manipulation, management and distribution of digital assets."

David Rosenberg of TV Magic added, "This is a project that will allow TV Magic to use its strengths in designing sophisticated digital media systems for buildings. We are pleased to have the opportunity to bring our advanced engineering and design capabilities to such an iconic cultural space."

TV Magic is working closely with ballet, opera and theatre staff to define and develop a flexible design for the renovated facility, which will include multiple cameras, robotics, audio capture and archival systems. All this fully integrated with the workflow administration platform and the titling system of the opera. But Philip Johnson's original design for the theatre and auditorium will remain. As planned, the renovation began in May 2008 and will continue until 2009.
